What you don&#8217;t see is that I&#8217;m just as <strong>susceptible<\/strong> as the next person to low moods, frustrations, bad days and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>However, I&#8217;m very good at <strong>finding a way around<\/strong> these obstacles. As such, I go about having a lot more good days, and successful weeks than the average person.<\/p>\n<p>You can do the same too!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>One of the most important elements for me is in the morning, and how I go about starting my day. I know there are some successful people out there who stay up till 3 am, and survive on lack of sleep and all that.<\/p>\n<p>But that simply doesn&#8217;t work for me, and you <strong>wouldn&#8217;t<\/strong> want to meet me on a day when I <strong>haven&#8217;t<\/strong> had enough sleep!<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, there are a lot of successful people out there who need sleep as much as I do, get lots of great things done, and still live happy and grateful lives.<\/p>\n<p>So a lot of what I&#8217;m going to share with you is based on what those people do, though this is my own take on it after implementing my own strategy over the years.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve ever wondered why some people seem to do so much without breaking a sweat&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;while you\u2019re struggling to get things done and get through the day&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Chances are you\u2019re missing out on some important habits that can impact your day \u2013 and your life in general.<\/h2>\n<p>You see, most people often <strong>take for granted<\/strong> the things they do every day. But the truth is that the amount of success you have (or don\u2019t have) depends on your <strong>habits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>They might not seem important since you do them so often. But these small actions <strong>add up<\/strong> in the long run.<\/p>\n<p>Having this daily system in place will help you crush those goals and <strong>feel good<\/strong> about yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Like I said, these habits fall on the most important part of the day \u2013 when you <strong>wake up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to have an awesome day, you need to set the stage right from the get-go. So here are the top morning habits that will <strong>supercharge<\/strong> your success:<\/p>\n<h3>Get Stuff Done &#8211; Habit #1: Make a To-do List<\/h3>\n<p>You\u2019ve probably tried this before. You just have to write down what you need to do and that\u2019s it, right?<\/p>\n<p>Actually, there&#8217;s <strong>more<\/strong> to it than that.<\/p>\n<p>Not all to-do lists are created equal, as it turns out. The difference lies in <strong>HOW<\/strong> you list your priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a better way do it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First, get a sheet of paper and make a rough list of the things you want to get done today.<\/li>\n<li>Next, ask yourself, \u201cIs this list well-written?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>To answer that, look at the items on your list \u2013 are they \u2018actionable\u2019?<\/li>\n<li>Go through your list again and turn those tasks into action items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most of the time, people write down vague goals that aren\u2019t well-defined. For instance, you might write \u201cClean house\u201d or \u201cWork out\u201d, but those won\u2019t give you the results you truly want.<\/p>\n<p>To make your to-do items actionable, break down those big goals into smaller, manageable chunks. This way, your responsibilities will feel less intimidating and overwhelming.<\/p>\n<p>So give those goals a makeover to make them look like this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clean house: Sweep floor, do laundry, scrub bathroom floor, take out trash, sort out old books in basement<\/li>\n<li>Work out: Do cardio on treadmill or Stairmaster and stationary bike, do weights \u2013 dumbbells, weight machines, then lunges, pushups and 20 leg raises (Yes, you can even put the exact number to make it more specific).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With this system, you\u2019re guaranteed to get better results at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<h3>Say Goodbye to Mediocrity &#8211; Habit #2: Schedule Your Day and Turn it Into a Habit<\/h3>\n<p>Now, this habit builds on the first one. To squeeze the most value from your goals, schedule them into timeslots.<\/p>\n<p>When you put your priorities against a clear timetable, your goals will have even <strong>MORE<\/strong> focus. This is especially effective for <strong>procrastinators<\/strong> who \u201cget around\u201d to their goals at some arbitrary point in time.<\/p>\n<p>This technique will <strong>motivate you<\/strong> because you know exactly what time you need to get it done.<\/p>\n<p>And once you get into the routine of scheduling your day like this, you\u2019ll soon turn it into a <strong>habit<\/strong>. Pretty soon, you\u2019ll find yourself cleaning your house and hitting the gym at a certain time with <strong>ease<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The more urgency your to-do list has, the <strong>more effective<\/strong> it is.<\/p>\n<h3>Make The Most Out of Your Day &#8211; Habit #3: Give Yourself a Boost<\/h3>\n<p>As you get older, the <strong>energy and motivation<\/strong> don&#8217;t come so easily. If you\u2019re feeling lethargic in the morning, you need to <strong>snap<\/strong> yourself out of this funk.<\/p>\n<p>So you what you need to do is get your blood circulation going. This will shake off your natural <strong>resistance<\/strong> to getting your day in gear.<\/p>\n<p>Look up stretching videos on YouTube, go for a jog outside or simply run in place (there are free apps for this). If you have a regular exercise routine, why not schedule it in the <strong>morning<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of <strong>free resources online<\/strong> to help you engage in some sort of physical activity. You might not feel like it at first, but you\u2019ll thank your body later on.<\/p>\n<p>As you start releasing those <strong>feel-good<\/strong> endorphins, you&#8217;ll get things going pretty quick.<\/p>\n<p>You can also take a <strong>cold shower<\/strong> as well. Once the water hits you, you&#8217;ll get a nice jolt and get your head in the game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t<\/strong> skip breakfast either. Treat yourself to a healthy meal <strong>without<\/strong> the processed stuff or excessive amounts of sugar.<\/p>\n<p>This will <strong>fuel your body<\/strong> and prime you for success.<\/p>\n<h3>Get Ahead of the Pack &#8211; Habit #4: Wake Up Early<\/h3>\n<p>Want a head start on the competition? Turn back your alarm clock <strong>a little more<\/strong> than you\u2019re used to.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no getting around the fact that getting up early \u2013 like 5 or 6 in the morning \u2013 gives you <strong>more time<\/strong> to get stuff done.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, some people get away with waking up at noon. But is that the best way to go about your day? <strong>Probably not<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re not a morning person, this is going to be a <strong>challenge<\/strong>. But it\u2019s nothing you can\u2019t overcome if you <strong>really<\/strong> want to.<\/p>\n<p>Again, do a quick search online and you\u2019ll immediately discover some techniques to get up early.<\/p>\n<p>Also, check out apps like Alarmy and the Rock Clock (from actor\/celebrity Dwayne Johnson who&#8217;s known for waking up at 5 am). These do away with the snooze button and <strong>force you<\/strong> out of bed.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not exactly psyched to get up early, think of it as enriching one of your <strong>most valuable resources<\/strong>. And that my friend, is none other than your <strong>precious time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Train Your Brain &#8211; Habit #5: Affirmations and Visualizations<\/h3>\n<p>Another thing people take for granted is the dialogue playing in their head. Most of the time you don\u2019t pay attention that little voice inside, but <strong>it\u2019s there<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s that faint noise in the background, feeding beliefs that you unconsciously <strong>accept<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s things like, \u201cYou\u2019re not qualified for this job,\u201d or \u201cYou\u2019re not cool enough to hang out with them\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The story you\u2019ve created in your head comes from <strong>negative<\/strong> past experiences. If you&#8217;re not careful, this will define who you are for a long time to come.<\/p>\n<p>But today, you have a chance to <strong>flip that script<\/strong>\u00a0in your head. To do that, get into the habit of filling yourself with positive statements instead.<\/p>\n<p>Write down statements that affirm the qualities that make you <strong>awesome<\/strong>. For instance, tell yourself, \u201cI\u2019m a productive person who makes a difference in the office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can also talk about the <strong>wonderful things<\/strong> you\u2019re going to do. Try something like, \u201cToday, I\u2019m going to get started on that business plan and put it into writing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Or tell yourself, \u201cI\u2019m going to put in enough hours today so I have a bigger paycheck to look forward to at the end of this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Your brain is a <strong>powerful tool<\/strong>, and this is something a lot of people tend to forget.<\/p>\n<p>It works in such a way that when you feed it images of an exciting future, it releases chemicals like oxytocin and serotonin. These put you in a <strong>positive state<\/strong> and give you the drive to make your dreams happen.<\/p>\n<p>And if you turn this simple action into a habit, it will create a profound effect on your future.<\/p>\n<h3>Get on the Fast Track to Success &#8211; Habit #6: Be Grateful<\/h3>\n<p>Negative energy comes from different places, such as how you\u00a0<strong>see the world<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll cloud your field of vision if you only focus on the <strong>bad stuff<\/strong> around you.<\/p>\n<p>Soon, it will seem like the universe is out to get you. And that\u2019s <strong>no way<\/strong> to live your life.<\/p>\n<p>The antidote is to <strong>challenge<\/strong> your negative perceptions. Replace an attitude of resentment with <strong>gratitude<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When you wake up, take note of all the <strong>wonderful things<\/strong> to be thankful for. It can be your morning coffee, a beautiful sunrise or even a general sense of gratitude for being <strong>alive and healthy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The more gratitude you have, the <strong>better vibes<\/strong> you\u2019ll give off. A lot of people have a built-in radar for picking up that sort of thing.<\/p>\n<p>This causes all sorts of folks to naturally gravitate toward you. And that means an upgraded social circle and <strong>more opportunities<\/strong> to connect with fellow humans.<\/p>\n<p>Sounds like a good deal, don\u2019t you think?<\/p>\n<h3>Love Yourself &#8211; Habit #7: Nurture Your Relationships<\/h3>\n<p>Speaking of connections, strengthening your <strong>bonds<\/strong> is another nice thing to do in the morning. Affirm not just\u00a0yourself, but the important relationships in your life.<\/p>\n<p>You can do that through simple acts of <strong>affection<\/strong>, both physical and verbal.<\/p>\n<p>Got a partner? Spend a few minutes in bed for some precious snuggle time. Make them their favorite beverage or snack in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>Before you start your day, give them a little kiss on the cheek along with a few words of encouragement. This <strong>emotional generosity<\/strong> increases the balance of your mutual \u2018love bank\u2019 account.<\/p>\n<p>And if you happen to be single, you can direct that goodwill towards your family, friends and colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Send them a silly or inspirational message in the morning. Get an extra cup of coffee for your next-desk neighbor at work when you do your regular Starbucks run.<\/p>\n<p>Like the other habits, the effect multiplies <strong>exponentially<\/strong> when you do it <strong>every day<\/strong>. Make those little deposits to keep the <strong>good vibes<\/strong> flowing.<\/p>\n<p>Pretty soon, that <strong>positive energy<\/strong> will find its way back to you!<\/p>\n<h3>Make Your Dreams Happen &#8211; Habit #8: Savor the Quiet Moments<\/h3>\n<p>One of the other benefits of waking up early is being able to <strong>enjoy<\/strong> the quietest part of the day. You know you\u2019ve got a full day ahead of you, and the stillness of the morning is the perfect time to <strong>gather your thoughts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A few moments of <strong>quiet reflection<\/strong> does wonders for your system.<\/p>\n<p>For starters, you can practice meditating.
