8 Signs You\u2019re Doing Better in Life Than You Think<\/h2>\n

Ever have that feeling that everyone else is going places you can only imagine? Doing things that you want to do, meeting people you want to meet, eating at restaurants you only read about in reviews, and the list keeps on adding.<\/p>\n

Well, you\u2019re not the only one who feels that way. A lot of people do. But that doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019re far behind the people you think have made it.<\/p>\n

Sometimes a change in perspective can make you see what the race actually looks like, and we\u2019re willing to bet that you\u2019re not trailing the last place.<\/p>\n

Here are a few signs that should tell you you\u2019re doing just fine.<\/p>\n

1. You have a steady group of friends<\/h3>\n

Most of our best friendships were forged back in childhood with pinky swears and crosses over our hearts. It\u2019s always comforting to be around people you don\u2019t have to be anyone but yourself with.<\/p>\n

The world is constantly trying to change you, to change your clothes, car, diet, exercise, eyes, cheeks, nose, and whatnot.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a rare feeling to be accepted for who you are completely.<\/p>\n

So if you have a set of friends who readily just thinks you\u2019re cool as it is without the add-ons and upgrades, you\u2019ve got it made.<\/p>\n

2. You have a job you like<\/h3>\n

It can\u2019t be stressed enough how important it is to have a job and to have a job that you actually like.<\/p>\n

When you were younger, maybe in your 20\u2019s, fresh out of college and hungry for employment, most people just got with the first company that wanted to hire them. And that\u2019s fine for a fresh grad.<\/p>\n

It builds character and adds to the experience.<\/p>\n

But as you get older and wiser, you realize that the hours you put in are valuable, not only for the monetary equivalent but because it takes you away from other things too.<\/p>\n

When you were younger, you had time to burn, but now, you get burned out as time passes, and you see time for what it is\u2014something you can\u2019t get back.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019re part of the few who get to earn a living while actually living, that is sublime.<\/p>\n

3. You get to travel<\/h3>\n

Almost everyone has \u2018travel to\u2026\u2019 on their bucket list, but not everyone actually does.<\/p>\n

When we hear the word travel, the next word that pops out in our heads is \u2018expensive\u2019. But airlines have made it quite affordable to go places without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n

There are cheap airfares that go with hotel accommodations, depending on the time of the year, the add-ons on your flight, etc., but largely, travel doesn\u2019t have to cost as much as they did back then.<\/p>\n

You just need a little ingenuity, a sense of adventure, and a little pocket money to get you places. And worse comes to worst (but not really), go on a road trip instead.<\/p>\n

Travel is really about getting you to explore new places and things, and if you can do that by any means, then you\u2019re already luckier than others.<\/p>\n

4. You get your weekends off<\/h3>\n

Only a few people can really say they look forward to the weekend where they can indulge themselves in their hobbies when they can lounge around the house and do absolutely nothing, when they can find the time to spend with their loved ones.<\/p>\n

You\u2019d be surprised at how many people work through Saturdays and Sundays.<\/p>\n

If you have a job that lets you have your weekends and doesn\u2019t ring your phone every so often for a work crisis, SCORE!<\/p>\n

5. You get little luxuries here and there<\/h3>\n

It may not involve sunbathing on a yacht or dining at the Rainbow Room, but those few quiet minutes or hours alone with a book and a cup of coffee, either in your cozy nook or a coffee shop, are luxuries that most times aren\u2019t afforded to the high-power executives you so admire.<\/p>\n

Stress-free moments are rare by anyone\u2019s standards. So if you get at least one hour a day to just breathe, that\u2019s a luxury.<\/p>\n

6. You have no mounting debts<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s no easy feat to be debt-free, but if you managed to keep yourself from getting overrun by them, kudos to you!<\/p>\n

Credit cards and loans can be such burdens. Some people struggle being in the hole, digging themselves even deeper at times.<\/p>\n

But if you\u2019re not up to your neck in debt, you must be doing something right.<\/p>\n

7. You have a partner that adores you<\/h3>\n

People have a tendency to take others for granted. So many marriages end in divorces or separation, one person cheats, starts to look for attention elsewhere\u2014the oldest stories in the book.<\/p>\n

If you have a partner who supports you in what you do, who thinks the world of you and loves you unconditionally, make it a point to show appreciation. Don\u2019t add to the statistic of breakups.<\/p>\n

Realize that you have it good just by having someone like that in your life and do what you need to in order to keep them.<\/p>\n

8. You have a house you can call a home<\/h3>\n

People have houses, at least the fortunate ones do. But you know what puts you a cut above the rest? When you can call your house a home.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the difference? A house is a structure that keeps you dry, that holds your things, that keeps you from sleeping outside, basically. But a home is where you can lay your head at night knowing that life is good.<\/p>\n

A home is that feeling of security, not because you\u2019re not out in the streets, but because you\u2019re right where you belong.<\/p>\n

A home is a place you go to at the end of the day and feel like everything is just as it should be, that everything is right in the world, at least in yours.<\/p>\n

Not everyone goes home to a place like that.<\/p>\n

Those who travel a lot on business miss that feeling quite often. People who stay up late in the office miss the comfort in the chaos of a home that houses the laughter and screams of their family. Those who are out on military duties all over the world miss coming home.<\/p>\n

So when you feel like you\u2019re way behind everyone else, just remember, having even just one of these things should make you feel like a winner.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t lose sight of what truly matters in life. It\u2019s not the tools you have, but how you use them.<\/p>\n

Use your ability to love, to laugh, to make connections, because that\u2019s really what you need anyway.<\/p>\n
