It is a natural reaction to stressful situations.<\/h1>\n<p>It is an <strong>emotion<\/strong>, just like any other, and you can\u2019t automatically control your emotions per se. Some people feel like <strong>failures <\/strong>every, time they don\u2019t curb their anger, but the truth is, it\u2019s <strong>normal <\/strong>to feel it, especially in <strong>reaction <\/strong>to something unfavorable.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing wrong with letting yourself feel that emotion. The sooner you understand and accept that it\u2019s <strong>natural <\/strong>and just part of the spectrum of emotions that humans experience, the sooner you can <strong>deal <\/strong>with it and learn to <strong>control <\/strong>it before it controls you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So how do you begin to control it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Don\u2019t respond at the height of your emotion<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When you have understood and accepted that anger is a <strong>natural <\/strong>reaction or response, the next thing you need to learn is that not every situation needs you to reply to it right away.<\/p>\n<p>Give yourself time to digest what happened, let your mind <strong>filter <\/strong>your emotions, let your mouth stay silent, and let your heart steady itself.<\/p>\n<p>Anger can sometimes be so intense that you are <strong>blinded <\/strong>by it momentarily and see nothing but your own emotions and feel the need to express them to rid yourself of these burdens.<\/p>\n<p>You need to calm yourself down before doing anything.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings us to&#8230;.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Use The Right Words<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When you have calmed yourself down, and everything begins to take focus again, now you can begin <strong>formulating <\/strong>your response to the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Assess the situation, the <strong>strategy <\/strong>you need to approach it, then craft your sentences carefully in order to express and address your feelings and what has happened.<\/p>\n<p>In the heat of the moment where you have been swayed by your anger, there\u2019s a big chance that you have said something hurtful and rendered the situation stickier than it should be.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Don\u2019t Blame Others<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>One of our first lines of defense is <strong>denial<\/strong>. When our brain denies our hand in something, it immediately goes to shifting blame.<\/p>\n<p>Or if you\u2019re more \u2018humane\u2019, you <strong>share <\/strong>the blame.<\/p>\n<p>When we\u2019re put on the spot, when the mistake is embarrassing, or when a lot is at stake because of our blunder, naturally we want to have nothing to do with it, even if we did.<\/p>\n<p>If you find yourself in a situation like this, it\u2019s not always easy to admit your mistake. But instead of starting with \u2018It\u2019s not my fault that&#8230;\u2019 try saying \u2018<em>I\u2019m sorry it seems like&#8230;.<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>By being a little <strong>tentative <\/strong>with your sentence, you\u2019re giving yourself the chance to slow down your mind\u2019s instinct to lie under pressure or to blame someone else. This will give you the time to evaluate the situation and think of what\u2019s less damaging to say.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Evaluate the Consequences of Your Action<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Lastly, if you\u2019re usually a man of reason, except when you\u2019re angry, you will find it easier to control your emotions if you shift your mind\u2019s focus on the future ramifications of the next words out of your mouth, or what you do next.<\/p>\n<p>You know that what you\u2019re feeling, no matter how intense, how true, and how right you may be, are temporary.
