3 Signs You’re Worrying Too Much

You can’t help it sometimes, to feel anxious and paranoid about what’s going to happen, when it’s going to happen, and things like that.

Sometimes it can be paralyzing to live in your head, trapped with all the thoughts of what could go wrong.

We keep thinking about past situations and replay them over and over until it makes more sense, and then later on when it makes no sense at all anymore from overstretching and overanalyzing everything.

Yes, this happens to a lot of people, not just you.

If you suspect yourself to be one of those who fear they might just be worrying too much, here are some tell-tale signs that you just might be. Detection is the first step to knowing how to remedy a situation or a problem.

1) You remember scenarios in details

One sure sign that you’re anxious is that you remember past situations in great detail. Why? Because remembering these things, even seemingly admissible parts, are all part of the process of overanalyzing.

You’ll find yourself replaying an awkward or embarrassing situation in your head and look back at your response, what you said, what you didn’t say, what you should’ve said, what the other person could have thought, what they might think of you now because of it, and the questions go on and on.

This gets really exhausting for you. Examining every angle, playing out how it should have instead, that’s just going to make you even more anxious.

2) You apologize for everything

Yes, knowing how to apologize is a sign that you are a good person. You know that offending someone, no matter how small, has its effects. You acknowledge people’s feelings and take initiative to make amends.

But there is a line between knowing when to apologize and apologizing on instinct because you’re worried how you will be perceived.

Sometimes you need to hold your ground and to stand by your opinion no matter how unpopular it makes you, but anxious people can’t control the urge to give in when it means they might offend someone.

3) You’re too cautious

Though carefulness is something that’s good most of the time, taken to the extreme, it can also be dangerous. Anxiety brings out the bad side of it.

How?

It leads you to be too calculating, too scared to make a mistake and makes you paranoid about the risks you do decide to take.

You end up second-guessing yourself and not gaining the confidence you need to make a difference, in your own life or someone else’s.

Being too cautious can be limiting and thus hinder you from actually living your life. If you’re too careful, you shy away from experiences that could teach you a thing or two.
