3 Things That are (Probably) Making You Sad

Author of Manifestation Miracle

Ever get the feeling that you can’t quite know for sure why, but you know you are feeling down? Yeah, everybody goes through that.

You recap every aspect about your life, think about your job satisfaction–check, your partner–check, your family–check, friends–check.

So what is it that’s getting you all misty-eyed and heavy?

Well, while there’s seemingly no particular reason why you should feel sad or depressed, there are things around us that can contribute to this.

If you understand how these things affect you, you might be able to control how you react to them.

Tiredness

When you lack the right amount of rest or sleep, you’re likely to feel washed out and unproductive.

You are likely to feel sluggish and not in the mood to do anything else besides go to bed.

Sleep affects a lot of things that go on in your life. It affects your performance at work, your attitude towards people, your health, and yes, your happiness.

Being well rested is a good practice physically, mentally, and emotionally. Getting enough of it will improve your mood and feelings for sure.

Weather

Whether you like it or not, what the weather is outside, affects us inside. When it’s rainy or it’s winter time, people are prone to feel more somber, more tired, more sluggish or inactive.

Whereas when it’s sunny, people tend to feel more excited, more open, cheery, and happy.

And since we can’t control the weather, we need to balance the weather with our feelings. We need to learn to control how we react to it.

For example, when it’s cold and gloomy, surround yourself with bright colors, with upbeat music, or watch funny films.

You need to do what you can to combat the mood that the weather sets.

The internet

Everybody’s online these days, everyone is on Facebook and all those other social media sites and apps that help people get connected and be in each other’s business. But sometimes this does more harm to you than good.

Because everything is uploaded in real time, you see the updates in people’s lives. When you’re in a particularly down mood and you see others having a good time and doing things that you dream of doing, chances are it’s going to make you feel worse.

You will also end up comparing your lives with theirs–who has the better car, the better looking beau, the bigger house, etc.

This only puts undue pressure to make your life as exciting as you think others’ lives are when in fact we all know the content of these pages are carefully curated pictures of what’s going right in their lives. But you don’t know what’s behind those scenes.

So try to limit getting involved in all things social media. Remember, real life is rarely that perfect, no matter how it looks onscreen.
