How to Inspire Yourself

There are a lot of ways you can make yourself feel impassioned about life. There’s always a sign, quite literally too, telling you to embrace the present and make it count.

The moment you read sayings or quotes that appeal to you, you feel as though you’re poised to take over the world and to conquer whatever stands between you and your goal.

Then life kicks in and the inspiration fades into the background as you pickup on the daily grind once again.

Keeping yourself motivated and inspired to do what you want to do is a habit. It takes discipline to live out the inspiration that touches you.

If you’re one of the many people who have trouble holding on to it, here are a few tips you might want to exercise:

Start the day winning

Your frame of mind as soon as you wake up in the morning will determine the flow of your day.

That’s why so many people think Monday is the enemy because waking up the day before felt better. But you have to ask yourself, what makes your Sunday exciting?

Yes, there’s no work, you get to catch up on rest, you have a whole day of doing what you want to do. But Monday shouldn’t feel so much different.

You need to approach each day as though it offers something new to you, because it does! It doesn’t matter what day of the week it is, what matters is it’s a New Day!

Have courage

Your fear somehow tells you what area in your character that needs most work in. If you listen to what scares you, you will also hear that part inside of you telling you what you need to do.

Fear is a strong motivator to make yourself better, because ultimately, people fear being mediocre, knowing they could’ve done better, because the sting of regret is more painful than the fear itself.

Have the courage that will impress yourself.

Go with the flow

Setting goals can be counter-productive to some people. The more you specify goals and the timeline in which to accomplish them, it becomes more about ‘accomplishing’ than it is about the reason you wanted it in the first place.

We hear about people who wish to buy a car by the time they’re 20 or be a millionare by the time they’re 30, but sometimes they forget about why they’re doing it in the first place.

For example, you want a car by the age of 20 so that you can go on road trips with your friends, but to get that car, you sacrifice the spare time you have to build friendships in exchange for a part time job that will bring you that car.

So which friends are you going to bring with you on that road trip in your new car that you’re saving up for? That’s a simplistic view of how you lose track of what’s important to you.

You may be looking too far ahead that you forget being present. Your goal becomes enslaving rather than liberating.

You don’t need concrete plans. You just need to see as far as two steps ahead and go from there. This gives just enough guidance and just enough leeway to allow a change in heart without feeling like you’ve wasted time and effort for the steps you’ve already taken.
