Have you ever woken up and felt that gut-wrenching anxiety about starting your day?

Maybe you have a big presentation you need to make, you’re not ready and there are important people coming in to evaluate you and your position in the company.

Maybe it’s another day of unemployment and you remember all the bills you have yet to pay and you don’t know how to get yourself out of bed, let alone figure out how to get back on your feet.

Maybe you feel stuck in your marriage, you’re unhappy with how you’re conducting your home life, you need a break, but you don’t know how to get it.

Whatever struggles you may be going through, you’re not alone.

A wise guru once said, “By conquering your mind, you conquer the world.”

To start on your journey, you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself and start saying these things instead.

“It’s another day!”

Sense the tone of the expression, it’s enthusiastic, not fatalistic.

If you ever hope to succeed in whatever it is you want to do, be it to get a job, get a life, or just to get out of bed, you need to feel excited about it.

The more you think that it’s going to be a crappy day, the more it will be.

Declaring something programs your mind to think that it is what’s happening or that it’s what’s going to happen. Therefore it sends you the energy that corresponds to that, and you’re on your way to that path.

It’s sort of like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

If you think you’re going to have a bad day, and that nothing’s going to change, it most definitely will be so. Then you’re going to feel confident about the wrong thing–that life is bad. So the cycle repeats.

Use the same theory, only start with an awesome thought instead.

“I am enough”

If you feel as if you’re not good-looking enough, rich enough, or smart enough to get what you want out of life, and that’s that, well you’re probably right.

People who actually get the life they want know these things about themselves, but they don’t care.

There’s always someone who’s more something than you are, but that shouldn’t stop you from thinking of yourself as capable.

You can tell yourself that yeah, you may not be enough to fly to the moon, but you certainly have what it takes to write those articles for a blog, or to manage a store, or put up your own small business.

Don’t let your insecurities drive you because they’ll just lead you under your bed, rocking back and forth, feeling helpless and stuck.

You have what it takes to make a difference in your life.

“I’m moving forward”

All of us experience getting stuck at a certain time. We find ourselves unable to process something that’s happened to us and we just let it perpetually block us.

When we’re in that place, we feel as if this is it, this is how our life ends, that everything has led to this point, and there’s nowhere else to go, so we make ourselves comfortable in that hole of ours.

You need to snap yourself out of it.

This is not how it ends, this is where it begins. Every time you find yourself back in square one, make it count.

Think of it as a do-over, and you’re given another chance, with all the knowledge and wisdom that you have, to have another go at life.

Choose to move upward and forward.
